Gregory M. Johnson, CPP
PresidentGreg Johnson is the President of Huffmaster Crisis Response, LLC. He is responsible for the overall sales and operations of the Crisis Services portion of Huffmaster’s business. This includes all Strike Security, Healthcare Strike Staffing, Industrial Strike Staffing, Strike Consulting and Disaster Response services. Greg is also responsible for the non-strike related staffing services provided by Huffmaster to its industrial and healthcare clients.
Greg started at Huffmaster in 1986 after serving on a U.S. Army Special Forces “A” Detachment as a Light Weapons Specialist and Communication Specialist. During his military career Greg graduated from several military schools including the Special Forces Qualification Course, Special Operations Training Course and Parachute School.
Greg’s start at Huffmaster was as the Director of Special Projects where he worked across all divisions and service lines, refining his project management and remote operation skills. During this time he directed labor dispute operations, large investigations, disaster response deployments and the start of Huffmaster’s strike staffing service line.
In 1993, Greg was promoted to Vice President of Operations for Huffmaster where the majority of his efforts were dedicated to building Huffmaster’s strike business into a national leader. During this time, the strike division at Huffmaster grew from a local and regional strike security provider to a premiere national labor dispute management company providing strike planning, security and temporary staffing services to clients across all industries. Greg held this position until 2001 when he was promoted to President of Huffmaster Crisis Response, L.L.C. where he became responsible for the leadership of the company.
He has held a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) since 1999 and became a Certified Labor Relations Professional (CLRP) in 2008. Greg has spoken frequently at various trade organizations on the topics of security and labor dispute management and is recognized nationally as an expert on operating a business during a labor dispute
Craig W. Cassady
Senior Vice PresidentAs Senior Vice President of Huffmaster, Craig Cassady is responsible for managing our crisis divisions and overseeing the company's sales growth, as well as personally selling services to some of our biggest clients. His abilities even extend into the field operations, and it was under his leadership that we were able to successfully run the largest revenue strike in company history, which included staffing hundreds of replacement nurses and administrative staff members over a 7-week strike among five locations.
Since joining Huffmaster in 2000, Mr. Cassady has played a key role in the company’s ongoing expansion from a regional, family-owned strike management firm into a national, full-service security solutions provider with clients ranging from small and medium-sized businesses to the Fortune 500. His ability to both anticipate problems and devise creative solutions tailored to each business’ needs are an invaluable asset to the company and its clients.
Prior to joining Huffmaster, Mr. Cassady owned and operated numerous full-service restaurant operations where he developed his hands-on understanding of the unique operational needs of service industry businesses. During that time, Mr. Cassady was featured in numerous local and national publications for successful restaurant operations and for turning around distressed properties. Cassady began his career in food service with the C.A. Muer Corporation in metropolitan Detroit and is the former owner of the Pilot House Restaurant on Mackinac Island, Michigan.
Mr. Cassady is an active member of ASIS International and the Troy Chamber of Commerce. He is also a sponsor of the Ohio School Board Association and a 25-year fundraiser for the ALS Society.
Vice PresidentRyan Huffmaster is responsible for the day-to-day management of Huffmaster Protective Services, which includes overseeing the administration, operations, and financial health of the division, as well as, strengthening our service lines for growth and resonating our “Customer Focused, Employee Driven” philosophy.
Ryan started working for Huffmaster Companies at the age of 16 as an accounting clerk. He shifted to field security at the age of 18, including time served in our strike division as both an officer and supervisor. Then, while completing his bachelor’s degree, he participated in an internship as assistant to the executive team. After completing his undergraduate degree, he was appointed to administrative and operations manager for Huffmaster Protective Services. And most recently, upon completion of his master’s degree, Ryan has been promoted to Director of Uniformed Operations. During his tenure, he has had the privilege of serving a variety of customers across the United States and is fully committed to going above and beyond with satisfying all of their security needs.
Ryan has achieved a Bachelor of Applied Arts in Entrepreneurship from Central Michigan University and a Master of Business Administration in Integrative Management from Michigan State University. Additionally, he is currently pursuing ASIS PSP certification and hopes to also obtain CPP certification within the next few years.
Ryan was born and raised in the security industry, with both his father and grandfather being owners of the business at some point in time. For this same reason, he has a strong desire to one day successfully transition the family business to its third generation. Dedication, patience, and a strong desire to be successful are some of the key attributes that lead Ryan to success in his position. He also feels that Huffmaster Protective Services enjoys success largely due to having a diverse combination of management, flexible and creative staff, and years of loyalty, allowing for tremendous group cohesion.
In the short-term, Ryan is striving to strengthen and grow Huffmaster Protective Services while also becoming more familiar with the various aspects of the security industry and the corresponding customer base and their needs.
And lastly, In order to keep abreast of current events and trends in the security industry, Ryan stays closely connected with other security professionals, industry associations, and actively monitors vendors and competitors.
Scott R. Gane
Vice President, Protective Service GroupScott Gane is the Vice President of the Protective Service Group at Huffmaster. He is responsible for the day-to-day management of the administration, operation and the financial health of the division. He is also responsible for the security-consulting line of business for the company. In that capacity he manages security program evaluation, corporate policy and procedure development, training, federal security compliance initiatives (with an emphasis on CFATS, MARSEC and CTPAT), corporate investigations, security risk, threat and vulnerability analysis and business risk management. He is the former president of Gane Security Solutions, LLC, a Michigan corporation with similar services.
As the former Senior Security Manager at General Atomics of San Diego, CA, a diverse company which has interests in several vertical markets (Nuclear, Defense, Energy, Aerospace, Chemical, Bio Fuels, Mining, Pharmaceuticals, and critical manufacturing), Scott provided supporting security deliverables consisting of physical and information technology security, risk identification and mitigation, personnel and executive protection, information assurance, loss prevention and internal investigations, national industrial security programs and related services.
He is a former Vice President of AlliedBarton Security Services of King of Prussia, PA, who heading up the specialized service offerings in the Chemical, Petrochemical and Energy (including Nuclear power) areas.
As the Regional Vice President for Initial Security of San Antonio, Texas, Scott was responsible for the overall management and corporate oversight of ten branch offices. In addition, he provided risk identification and mitigation, technical support and design configurations for loss prevention (security, fire and safety) systems at various client locations throughout the country.
Scott also worked as the Director of Loss Prevention for Tootsie Roll Industries in Chicago, Illinois. He developed their first comprehensive physical security and safety program for their 2.1M square foot facility in Chicago, as well as physical security programs for the rest of their global manufacturing, distribution and sales operations.
Additionally, Scott was the Senior Security & Fire Prevention Administrative Compliance Coordinator for the D.C. Cook Nuclear Power Plant in Bridgman, Michigan; He is also a veteran of the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, serving as one of the first firefighters/paramedics in the department and later as a sworn police officer.
Scott is a 20-year ASIS International member and currently serves as the Chairman of the Fire & Life Safety Council within the organization. He is board certified in Security Management and holds the title of Certified Protection Professional (CPP). He also served as a committee member for the development of ANSI Standards on Workplace Violence Prevention and Intervention, Risk Assessments, and Investigations, that were subsequently published.
Scott is a frequent speaker on safety and security-related subjects and has spoken at businesses, colleges, universities, seminars and organizational meetings throughout the country. He has been published in several industry trade magazines and has made numerous radio and television appearances on various security-related topics.
